The Client
Emma came to Melbourne from Canberra to study, drawn to Brunswick by its creative energy, arts scene and the lifestyle that made Melbourne feel like somewhere she could build a life of her own.
After moving between share houses for a while, she was ready for a place that was truly hers. Somewhere she could settle in, have friends over and feel connected to the neighbourhood around her.
The brief was about finding that balance. A two bedroom home that was low maintenance, had low strata fees and offered some outdoor space, whether that was a courtyard or a little patch of land to enjoy.
Transport was particularly important, as was the feel of the neighbourhood itself. Emma wanted somewhere she felt safe and comfortable, with easy access to a train and everything else she loved about living in Melbourne.
It was a relatively simple brief on paper, but each of those elements mattered. The challenge was finding a home that brought them together without compromising on the things that were most important to her.

What we did
We explored a variety of options across the Inner North, weighing up location, size and value while staying focused on Emma’s non negotiables.
An off market villa unit in Brunswick West eventually stood apart. One of only three on the block, it offered solid older style construction, generous proportions, an off street car space and the outdoor space Emma wanted.
We inspected it multiple times and worked through the building fundamentals carefully before negotiating a fair outcome with the vendor.
After just one month, Emma had a home of her own that gave her the independence she was looking for while keeping her connected to the neighbourhood and lifestyle that brought her to Melbourne in the first place.
What the client said
The Property
In their words
Working with Jason made buying my first home feel so much less overwhelming than I expected it to be. He really understood what I was looking for, not just in the property itself, but in the kind of lifestyle and neighbourhood I wanted to be part of. Jason was patient, honest and incredibly knowledgeable throughout the whole process. He never made me feel pressured to compromise on the things that mattered to me, and I always felt like he genuinely had my best interests in mind. In the end, we found a home that gives me everything I was hoping for. My own space, room for friends to stay, outdoor space and a neighbourhood I genuinely love being part of. I couldn’t be happier with how it all worked out and would absolutely recommend Jason to anyone looking to buy in Melbourne.
